Member Information
This area will be used for information about specific members. We may list each member's birthday for the month, or other
significant events, such as weddings, births, or graduations. This is a great way to keep up to date on how fellow members
are doing. We could also have links to members personal web sites.
For Real. We mean EVERYONE, who will stand
against "Pelican State Justice".
All individuals across the state who are taking a stand in every instance are commended. It is, imperative that
prayers be constantly made for the citizens who are experiencing such difficulty. The tri-parish leadership in the Thibodaux
case are together on an issue that concerns us all. As one of the leaders said, they are not condoning criminal activity,
but the truth must come out.
"A noose is a powerful symbol of hate and racially-motivated violence, and it can, in certain circumstances,
constitute the basis for a prosecution under federal criminal civil rights law."
From joint statement on Jena as read by US Atty LAWD. Statement included DOJ's Civil Rights
Division, its Criminal Section and the CRS Section.
In this column we may review past events and how successful each of them was. For example, April we had several participants
visit the Louisiana Legislature to help secure better voting conditions for American Citizens Exiled from the home.
It was an eye-opening experience for everyone involved, and an experience we will be involved in again.
[April 5th & 6th 2006]
In May, interest in an ongoing appeal was evident by the presence of concerned family members at the hearings
of the First Circuit Court of Appeal in Baton Rouge, La. This family has exhibited the type of response needed
in such situations. Others are now following the example.
A case in Thibodaux, where three seperate parish civil rights leaders have come together with family,
were present in a December 3, 2005 state meeting; in which meeting, a resolution was offered against wrongful arrests, incarcerations
and convictions in the case involving the ongoing appeal in the First Circuit. Family members of the appellant were
present in the state meeting, which was held in Thibodaux.
